Description
There is a fabulous artist named Karin Jurick---I am such a fan! She has started an art challenge blog for weekly painters.....you may call us slow daily painters...
She posts a reference photo every Wednesday on the blog and artists who wish to participate paint their version of the photo and adds it to the blog. "Different Strokes from Different Folks".
http://differentstrokesfromdifferentfolks.blogspot.com/
This is the seventh week I have participated and I am looking forward to joining in the fun every week.
Thank you Karin for such a wonderful opportunity for a group of artists to play and admire each others work.
This week we were asked to paint the photograph upside down concentrating on the shapes we see and not the composition. By flipping the image, you're more likely to render what you see, and not what you know. You are guided by shapes and blocks of color. When you are nearly finished, you flip the painting right side up and finish the details. I did have to straighten quite a few lines, but the shapes were basically there.
